Sara recently came to Bright Hope with her sister, feeling anxious and overwhelmed by an unexpected pregnancy. She shared that she had very little support and that the father of her baby had been physically abusive and was involved with another woman.
During her ultrasound appointment, Sara was nervous. She listened to her baby’s heartbeat and then actually cursed to her sister. Through tears, she shared that she had been working hard to better herself as a person, and this wouldn’t help. But she added after seeing the ultrasound image and baby models in the clinical room, she knew this was “a whole little person.”
Her client advocate, Becky, discussed parenting, adoption, and abortion options with Sara, including the mental health aspect of abortion. She connected her with resources for medical care, insurance, counseling, and parenting support. Becky later emailed information about paternity testing and counseling referrals.
A few weeks later, during a follow-up conversation, Sara shared the wonderful news that she had decided to keep her baby!
